In 1992-93 or so, when I first joined CAP, the first bivouac I attended was to a spot in Middlefield. I know I've told you guys about it before, and over the years I've always wanted to go back there and I think this should be the summer, if anyone else is up for it. As far as where, I dont remember the actual location, or how to get there but I remember several details that should make it possible to find, with a topo map and some logical deductions. It had a small parking area, hike in on railroad tracks about a mile where the tracks crossed a small brook that had a "Y" in it about 100 yards from the tracks. It was a great hike, lots of rock formations along the stream and the trout fishing was great also. Good campsites, if you dont mind trains at 2am. Not sure if anyone else ever went there with Ray, or knows where it is, but thats definetly a trip worth taking this summer. Anyone else interested? |
