When these things get spooked they jump straight up in the air. So when a car comes by instead of just letting it pass over they will jump straight up and smash themselves on the undercarriage or bumper. Not the brightest creatures on the planet.

The only proper thing to do when you spot this "thing", is pull out a bat and club it.

But they do have fur all over their legs. Very strange creatures.
