Another view of the trailer flex. Also look at the two 2x10 yellow pine runners flexing under the weight.

*UPDATE*
For some reason my boss asked me to get an empty weight of my truck with a roll trailer today. (I almost wondered if he read that last comment... but I don't think I ever told him about TGE website). Anyways. Empty weight of the truck + trailer was 36,060lbs. So I was within a thousand pounds or so with my guess of the trailer weight difference.

Probably only about 30,000 to 35,000lbs. Not extremely heavy... but when the trailer is opened up to 60ft long its a lot weaker. The total weight of the truck is roughly the same as a traditional load of lumber on a flat bed(78,000ish). The roll-off trailers that we haul the trusses on are about 8,000lbs heavier than a regular flatbed because its basically a frame inside of a frame. (picture a collapsible antenna). They adjust from 40ft long to 60ft long. We have one that goes from 48ft to 78ft for our real big trusses. We've hauled 86 footers since I've been there. Longest I've been is 68ft.

How much does a load like that weigh?

No. We can normally use 2x8 #2 spruce runners and not have any issues with the runners breaking. This stack was about as high as we can build them (about 13'2' tall at the top layer) and the trusses are 60ft span attic trusses, so that top run of the truss is built with 2x10 DSS (yellow pine)... and they were heavy as hell. We originally tried 2x8 DSS runners. It was obvious they weren't going to make the ride without breaking so we switched to two 2x10's.

I had to zoom to the full-res to see the pine runners flexing.  Is that normal?  That looks bad!
